My students are creative and outgoing but are 2 grades below grade level in reading and writing. They come from low socio-economic areas and require extra help in trying to achieve their goals. They enjoy drawing & illustrating their ideas, feelings, concepts and stories. Retelling with photos helps their comprehension, helps increase their vocabulary levels and increase their reading fluency. Hands-on materials, electronics and supplies are in really SHORT supply and high demand and are necessary to help BOOSTER their CONFIDENCE and SKILLS.
