My students are a mixed bunch. Many of them are living in poverty, receiving free and/or reduced cost lunch. Many of them come from working class families. Our district is a Title I district. My students come to school each day ready to learn. My students want to be successful. They are loving, caring, respectful, hardworking, motivated, and they deserve better than uncomfortable student desks. My school is one of the best places to teach and learn. I work with amazing colleagues, motivational leaders, and incredible students. Students here are very accepting of differences. They understand everyone here has a different home environment than themselves. They are tolerant of one another and look out for each other. My school cares about those who are less fortunate. There isn't anywhere I'd rather be. My students aren't perfect. They don't all complete their work. They don't all do everything they are asked, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
