I'm currently in my 5th year of teaching at the high school from which I graduated. Over half of our students receive free or reduced lunch, which is indicitive of the socio-economic make-up of our community. My 9th graders come from loving homes with very limited financial resources. Because of our inclusion program, half of the classes I teach are inclusion classes, which means that 30% of my students have IEP's and various learning disablities. We have also seen a large influx of students whose first language is something other than English, and about 10% of my students are not native English speakers.
