We are a rural school with 475 enrolled children from Pre-K through 5th grade. They are wonderful students eager to learn and hungering for knowledge. We are on a fixed schedule and although I have those students for a short period of time during the week, for media classes; I make every effort to make every minute count for learning to be fun and educational. I want them to have every opportunity that surrounding communities have for their students and that is why I am in the start of creating Makerspace stations in the media center to offer them yet another opportunity to be creative, while having fun and gaining knowledge. While promoting literacy skills is still my main goal as a Media Coordinator, I feel incorporating the 3 C's of education with technology and these Steam activities vital for the success of our life-long learners. Each and every child deserves that chance.
