My students have different life experiences, cultures, and economic backgrounds. I teach in a school that has wonderful and caring educators. I have taught grades Preschool through Second Grade and Special Education for a total of 20 years. Each year is a new and exciting school year. Just when I have seen everything something new pops up! There is always room to learn and grow as an educator. There are about 450 students in my school and 21 of them are in my first grade classroom. 50 percent of our school population receives free or reduced lunch. I have a very unique and classroom with a lot of different life experiences. Teachers, as a whole, are being asked to do so many different things with our students to get them at grade level we are trying everything we can to do that. One way to help achieve that goal is to get as many books into their hands as possible.
