These books will help my students to not only learn about the world around them, but to continue to improve their reading fluency and comprehension. It is essential for students to have books that are at a "just right" level for them. Because of the diversity in the reading ability of my multi-age classroom, this is extremely important. While I have many nonfiction books for my readers at 2nd grade levels, I need nonfiction books for my first grade readers. With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of nonfiction titles that will allow them to read independently at his or her own grade level. I'm always amazed at how curious my students are and these books will not only improve fluency and comprehension, but will also enable them to soak up all the knowledge that they crave about the world around them!
