While we have a set curriculum students also have the opportunity for free exploration using various materials. This is a favorite activity for my students and I love that it fosters their growing understanding of the concepts being taught during class. Having a larger inventory of available materials is of enormous benefit to my students during free exploration time. Throughout the COVID pandemic my students have been able to continue their STEAM studies because a substitute has been able to step in and monitor students as they use the materials available for free exploration. Additional material choices will only expand my students options and ability to grow on their own.
