"It is well to read everything of something, and something of everything"-Lord Henry P. Brougham. I am a sixth-grade, self-contained classroom where I have the joy of teaching my students all day. I am trying to promote the love of reading by showing my students that reading and knowledge come from reading all types of genres about everything we are learning in our classroom. Unfortunately, half of our students come from low-income families that don't have resources to supply their children with a variety of genres and many are from single family homes.
