Welcome to the world of 3rd/4th graders...where "learning to read" becomes "reading to learn"! An incredible thing happens in 4th grade as kids turn into students. Their curiosity is fueled by the knowledge that they are important producers and consumers in this ever changing world. Their exploration of the world around them empowers them and encourages them to learn more. They discover that reading is not a cumbersome act, but a necessary one that makes a person better...stronger...more knowledgeable...more capable. In our class, we use reading, writing, and math to explore the many wonders of the world. There is no limit to the explorations we will take during their 4th grade year. The beautiful thing is, that they are equipped to lead our journey...all we adults need to do is supply the materials that make it possible for them to connect the many subjects we will study. Thanks for your help on our journeys!
