I believe children need to be in a comfortable environment in order to optimize their learning on a daily basis. Students who are comfortable in the classroom take ownership in their education and are more willing to participate and take educational risks. I want to create a learning environment for my students that makes them feel comfortable, safe, and loved. The tables in this project will allow students to have access to flexible seating in the classroom. It will also allow for more opportunities for collaborative learning and group work. Students will have more space around the classroom to participate in more hands-on learning activities during center time which has been proven to be one of the most effective teaching strategies.
