My school is located in Hialeah and it is 90% Hispanic. Many of my students do not speak English and are just entering into the country. They require the use of a lot of visual activities to help them understand what is being presented. My students are 8th graders many of which struggling readers and ELL students. Trying to understand English to read and comprehend science concept is a challenge for my comprehensive science students. My physical science students struggle with the math and simple algebra calculation that is included in their curriculum. I use a great deal of technology and the interactive smart board to help students make sense of the information.
