I teach at an all-girls school in which all of the students are African American. I am the fifth and sixth grade science teacher. The school is located within an urban city school district. Despite the students' impoverished neighborhood that surrounds the school, they work hard at succeeding despite their circumstances. My students enjoy having fun learning in my classroom, and enjoy working on projects in which they are active and working together.
