Our school is an inner city school 75% Hispanic and greater than 80% free and reduced lunches. Even though the greatest population is Hispanic we are very diverse; which include American Indian, Vietnamese, Chinese, Middle Eastern, Caucasian, African American. Because of the economic status of our school many of our students dreams are limited because of past or current circumstances. The culture in the school is a culture of success and self improvement with a emphasis on college and career ready to provide an avenue for hope and achievement. Some of the support mechanisms in the school are; Avid, we are an Avid Demonstration High School, CTE (Career and Technical Education) which include; Culinary Arts, Fashion, Family Sciences, Welding, Automotive, etc. Additionally we provide industry leaders as classroom guests to share expectations and provide students of understanding of job requirements and a snapshot of the job opportunities.
