My students are hardworking and deserving of the best education they can get, as they face multiple challenges like neighborhood crime and poverty, yet they still give their all with a smile every day. Many of our students come from broken homes, with 30% in foster care or other family. As a result of the challenges they face, all of our students receive two free meals a day. Despite all of the excuses they COULD use, our kids strive to complete community service projects and achieve their academic and personal goals. The hard work and effort they put into their education should give us all hope for the future. They have a ton of energy and enthusiasm, and the theraputty, bouncy bands, and standing desk will help our students focus that energy in a positive way in class, as opposed to a disruptive manner.
