I teach predominantly minority, low-income students, many of whom struggle with reading and writing. I also teach advanced placement and gifted students, most of whom want to be challenged and who go out of their way to learn new things and who read voraciously. The students I teach are great kids, but some of them have been through a lot in their short lives. Many are first generation immigrants, many of them have had a minimal education until now. But they all have the potential to learn if given the opportunities.

About my class
