Some students began the year with very minimal knowledge of kindergarten standards. In the beginning, most of my students could not write their names, recognize letters, count to ten, nor recognize numbers zero to five. However, with great expectations and building a supportive classroom community, my students have grown tremendously! There are students in my class that have minimal resources and support at home. They have not been made aware of their creative ability and often are not exposed to instruction that allows use of their multiple intelligence's. These kindergartners though, are excited about learning and enjoy our student centered curriculum based centers, that I have mostly created. They would enjoy access to a larger variety of activities to manipulate in our classroom; to make their learning experience fun, stimulating and enjoyable.
