My students are from low income families. We are a Title 1 school which means 90% of our students are on free or reduced lunch. That fact by no means diminishes their levels of intelligence. My students are very eager to learn but sometimes they get discouraged and frustrated when they can't immediately get the correct answer. Our school motto is "Hard Work Pays Off". Our students are learning that nothing worth having comes for free, you will have to work hard. They are very supportive of their school however, they hate being at school let them tell it. We can't seem to get them to leave at the end of the school day. I want my students to have every advantage to advance in this world, no matter what their home circumstances may be.
