This book will provide a rich, meaningful experience for these readers. We will develop authentic pieces of writing with real audiences about the following topics: emotional intelligence, peer pressure, and speaking up in difficult situations. Additionally, we will conduct research about the topics in this text: the juvenile justice system, mental health, emotional intelligence in schools, and statistics related to violence in schools. Finally, we will use public service announcements about the above topics in order to make change in our school and community. Specifically, there is a great need to help improve emotional intelligence in our school. We will implement some ideas in the daily Advisory classes in our school. Help us make a difference in our school by providing a rich reading experience for us in our English 10 class!
