It is said, "If you give a man a fish, he eats for a day. If you teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime." We strive to teach our students the skills needed for a lifetime of success. Along with the school nurse, I, the school librarian, want to provide hands-on, real life applications to nutrition and science objectives by having my Preschool through grade 5 students grow a vegetable garden. As my school has an above average poverty rate, this garden would help feed the many families in our community who are currently living below the poverty level.

About my class
