The goal of the piano lab will be to service and provide a large number of students the opportunity to learn piano. Many of my students wish to learn how to play piano, however cannot afford taking private lessons. The first goal is to bridge this gap. The second goal of teaching piano to my students is to cognitively develop their skill in finger muscle memory and mental/physical multi tasking. By developing these skills learning piano, scientifically it has been researched to show that students playing the piano are utilizing, developing, and improving their entire brain function. The third goal will be to provide a musical learning experience that's not only positive, but an experience that cognitively benefits them to help them excel or improve in other subjects during and after their time in middle school.
