These Kindle Fires will give students the opportunity to use touch screen technology independently in a center setting. They will be able to use educational apps, as well as listen to and follow along with stories. In addition, some of my students receive ESE services, and others are labeled ESOL learners. These tablets would give these students specifically, a chance to use technology that they may not be familiar with, and a different way to learn. Since we are a Title One school, my students do not always have the chance to use technology at home. In this increasingly high tech world, computer literacy skills are vitally important at the elementary level and beyond. These tablets would give them time to explore and learn using this type of medium.
