9th grade English I students who are looking to increase their vocabulary in a major way. I currently teach 9th grade English at a high-need school with a population of bright students. Students in my English I classes are looking to increase their vocabulary so that they may do better with tests and also understand texts that are being read in class with difficult vocabulary. They also get a kick out of reusing the word after they learn it and "showing off" to their parents when they get home!
