The overall objective of this endeavor is to open new doors to students that may otherwise remain close. LEGO blocks engage my students to hook them in a way that allows to buy in to what our overall objectives are. Utilizing LEGO blocks will help them buy into thoroughly analyzing specific scenes, understanding the engineering required to create Rowling's vision, while learning how to use STOP Animation. The students will be using their novel study groups to really dig deep into the scenes being built in their literature groups. During their Engineering Station, students will use the LEGO sets to comprehend the work that was needed to bring Rowling's vision to life. Finally, during their technology block, students will be using LEGO stop animation to create their own scenes with the LEGOs.
