My students love to pick up books and read. They need to hear what fluent reading sounds like since many of their parents don't or can't read to them. Right now I'm lacking a listening center and books with a CD so that they can hear fluent reading. Most of my students get no additional help at home so school and my classroom is where most if not all their learning happens. They struggle in many areas, but fluency is what keeps them from moving to the next level. My students need to hear more fluent readers and be able to practice reading fluently as well.
