I teach a Fourth Grade Alternative Bilingual Education classroom in the same city that provided me with the opportunity and education to be able to serve and give back to my community. I have been teaching 17 years and have taught kinder, second, third, fourth and fifth grades. I am honored to be able to serve the children I get to spend my days with. All of my students are learning English as a their second language. On a daily basis, they face many linguistic, social, cultural and economic disadvantages and I see myself in each and every one of them. It is my duty to give them the resources and instruction they will need in order to become successful members of society. I hope that I serve as an inspiration to them in the same manner my teachers inspired me during my schooling days.
