The children at our school are like children everywhere... happy, imaginative and curious. These students are learning their place in their social circles. Sometimes, they are challenged by the "jostling" of everyday circumstances. Ours is a small neighborhood school of mixed ethnic and social backgrounds. All of the students walk or ride their bikes to school. Many of these children are English Language Learners (their parent's are non-English speaking, working class adults). All of our children are hungry to learn, and their faces light up when they earn a new "Reading Challenge Award!" The goal of our teaching staff is that these bright and hungry-to-learn children leave our school prepared to meet the challenges of continuing education. That each child has acquired the skills necessary to succeed on their chosen path and are equipped to follow their dreams.
