My students are eager and engaged. We are a medium-sized school in a large urban district. The school itself is an extremely warm and positive place to be. Teachers and parents are very supportive of the students and each other, as is the administration. However, as with most districts these days, the focus is understandably on core academics. Social-emotional learning is often a secondary focus, if at all.
