I teach six deaf students and they are all very different. Some of my students have deaf parents and siblings. Others have different languages spoken at home other than English. Then I have some who have hearing parents. Several of my students are very creative and artistic, it's amazing how much detail they put into their work. They all fit well as a class and each one brings a different spark. My school is amazing how welcoming and open it is to deaf students. We have as many as 60 deaf students in our overall program. We are extraordinary, according to our principal. As soon as you walk into the building you feel welcome no matter who you are or if you are deaf or hearing.
