Visual cue cards are reminders of specific skills, classroom expectations, and/or appropriate behaviors. Students with communication deficits are taught to use visual cue cards to more adequately express themselves. Teachers and other staff may use them to reinforce learned skills; non-verbal reminders to attend to tasks, regulate behavior, or implement a coping strategy to de-escalate or calm. My students learn to value connectedness and cue cards afford them the creativity to effectively connect and communicate with others within their environment. My intention is to help all students increase their opportunities for successful learning outcomes through the use of cue cards.
