Most of my students are in the AVID program because of their excellent work habits. They may not be able to afford the best SAT bootcamps or multiple college admissions fees, but they exhibit the knowledge, work ethic, and ability to succeed given ample opportunity. Most of my students hold after school jobs while additional involving themselves in multiple extracurricular activities. While providing for their own necessities, they strive for the same opportunity for students with privilege.
