My students have qualified for the SPARK (School Program to Actualize Responsible Kids) program due to emotional disabilities, inclusive of students with Autism (Asperger's) and Developmental Disabilities. My students are grades kindergarten through third. All of my students have unique needs and require low teacher:student ratios. Many have fine motor challenges making it difficult to write with a pen or pencil. I'm trying to teach them all keyboarding skills to alleviate some of the anxiety involved with written expression. Some of the kids with low verbal expressive scores and would benefit from the iPad programs that involve PICS for augmentative and alternative communication.
