The addition of technology through the use of iPads will have a positive and valuable impact on all my students because I have no available technology in my classroom other than a Promethean Board. Having iPads will allow them to use different programs, websites and apps that will advance or enhance their learning experience. It will allow students who are meeting or exceeding their curriculum expectations to work independently or in targeted groups at their own pace and learning level, or assist students who need additional support. Having available class technology will provide equal opportunity to all students at school. Students will be able to use these to explore different tools and enhance their learning regardless of their current level. The iPads will also be used to enhance the students’ digital literacy. They can make videos and presentations, research and explore in a cooperative setting. Incorporating technology in group focused studies in core subjects will prepare students for readiness in a STEM-focused world, and develop modern digital skills for whatever career they may choose.
