In my first grade classroom, we use iPads multiple times a day, especially during math and reading centers. We practice reading, math fluency, and much more. All of my students, especially those who struggle academically, LOVE any opportunity to be on the iPads. They see the work given to them on the iPads more as a game than actual work, though many of the apps they use are more rigorous than the worksheets they would otherwise be doing. Since I have started using iPads during math centers, student proficiency with their addition facts has increased dramatically. With these iPads, more of my students will be able to practice their math fluency during centers. This will provide even more of them with the support that I cannot give when I am working with a different group of students.
