I am currently teaching first grade at a charter school in a high poverty area is Las Vegas, Nevada. My students are eager to learn and are hungry to succeed. Unfortunately we are not blessed to have all the supplies necessary to foster them into lifelong learners and college bound students. My students are a diverse group of students that love coming to school. My students are very excited to learn new concepts. However supplies are very limited in our classroom. Often times we do not even have enough paper for all our activities. We make due with a marker and white board. My students are very grateful even with the little we do have to learn with. I believe if I could get more materials every learner in my room will be able to reach their full potential.
