Our core curriculum states that students should have experiences in different genres of dance. We are in a rural area, and most of my students haven't had many experiences outside of our state. Providing props for our dances helps us learn about different dance styles and cultures. It makes dance more fun and realistic for the students. Dance is a place my students can come to let go of their stress and just enjoy themselves. They can express their feelings through movement. My students love performing for their peers and families. These props and costumes will enable us to have amazing performances and learn new skills. I also have some special education students that love to come to dance class. They feel like it's a place they can be on level ground and just have fun!
