My students come from diverse racial, academic, and socio-economic backgrounds. They all come to my physical education classroom with a wide-variety of skill levels. Though my school has increased in size and programs offered during the school day, we see a need to add extra-curricular activities, including sports clubs, to support our students' development. Many of my students have never belonged on a sports team of any kind. My goal is to provide students with the experience and lessons learned through being part of a team. I truly believe that sports and sports clubs are a great way to enhance students academic and social-emotional development though middle and high school.
