Thank you for viewing my second grade classroom! I have a very spacious room that allows my students to move about the room freely as they are engaged in rigorous curriculum. I have found that at a second grade level it is still difficult for the majority of students to sit still for long periods of time. My students desks are arranged in the center of the room, as they are the focal point of our every day operations, they must always be the center of attention at all times. The majority of student learning takes place by moving around the room from station to station. Each station is leveled based on each groups academic learning level in order to maximize the growth of each individual student. This is currently my fourth year teaching at Bryant Elementary School and I can honestly say that I have never had a more rewarding job in my nine years as an educator.
