My students are like typical students, who are eager to learn new information. About 95% of the students are minority. Most of them are categorized as low income. Their financial background plays a very crucial role in their learning. I, once gave a project where the students had to create a menu on the computer. More than half of them weren't able to do so because either they didn't have a computer, a printer or Internet. I had to give them 3 weeks extension. About 10 of the students did their menu project on loose leaves. Despite their financial situations, my students have the drive to learn and they show this by actively participating in their own learning. They ask a lot of questions regarding the lesson. This is my first year at the school and I think that the school does a lot to ensure that the students are doing well. The Principal's goal is the reach all students. She creates programs that ensure that parents and teachers communicate on a regular basis.
