Now more than ever, our students need social emotional support. Through mindfulness (the process of being present in the moment), we can use all of our senses to help regulate our emotions and behaviors. Mindful coloring is a great relaxation tools for students to practice being in the moment. Living in poverty, uncertainty, trauma, and a pandemic, are all recipes for anxiety and stress. Students cannot learn while they are stressed or suffering from debilitating anxiety. With mindfulness, we can start to overcome these stresses together. At school, home, and through online learning, students will be motivated to practice mindfulness as they color various intricate designs. Please help me share mindfulness with my students. With mindfulness practice, my students will begin to learn how to focus, de-stress and regulate their minds and bodies.
