My students are live in a rural area and many have never been exposed to life outside of their immediate area. Today's students are being asked to start making "life decisions" earlier and earlier and many do not have the information necessary to make decisions good ones. Heads Up 8th Grade introduces them to things about high school that will effect the rest of their life. Things like GPA, ACT and Career Exploration and Possibilities. They need to see that the life they have now does not have to determine their future. It is entirely THEIR CHOICE. I have always said that to make the best choices one needs as much information as possible. That is what I want to give my students, INFORMATION, KNOWLEDGE AND CHOICES.
