My students come from a range of socio-economic backgrounds. I have students who lead very transient lives and have been in different schools every year. I have students who live with grandparents and other relatives. I have students who have their own cell phones, but I have other students who come to school in the same clothes, hungry, day after day. They thirst for knowledge and strive to do their best every single day. It is very difficult to bridge the gap between the diverse students in my room. More regular access to technology would help even the playing field, ensuring that ALL of my students have the same educational experience.
