These Wobble chairs will allow my students to wiggle and move how they see fit, all while being actively engaged in their work. Regular chairs are hard, and often uncomfortable to sit in all day. For a 5 and 6 year old, this is hard to do, especially for the 8 hours my students are in school. My students like to move and often I find them sitting in a variety of ways such as sideways, one leg on, tipping in their chair, and rocking it back and forth. The normal chairs in the classroom are not developmentally appropriate. Students should be able move around throughout their environment, especially where they sit. Wobble chairs will help them move in an unrestricted environment. Wobble chairs engage my students by letting them move side to side, and back and forth. This allows my students to use their energy by engaging their core muscles. These chairs will improve their school lives by focusing their minds on the task being presented to them. These donations will also increase instructional time, as it will cut down on the many times I have to stop my instruction to remind my students to sit safely in their chair. My students will no longer be distracted by trying to get comfortable in their hard chair.
