Meeting the needs of a diverse population like mine can be a struggle at times, though. I teach in a Title 1 school, which means that the majority of my students come from families that are financially disadvantaged. So many in fact, that every student in our school receives a free breakfast and lunch each school day. I have five students with learning disabilities, a visually impaired student, a gifted student, seven students who are reading a year or more below grade level, a student who is in a self-contained class except for the hour he spends with me, and eight general education students. It is a challenge to present each lesson in such a way that every student will grasp each concept.
