My Title 1 school services a diverse group of students who face many hardships daily and are rarely introduced to new experiences. Most students, and parents alike, come from homes where English is a second language and economic hardship is a harsh reality. Because of this, school tends to be the only place where students have the opportunity to engage in, explore, and discuss a world that is beyond their neighborhood. Despite what many may see as setbacks, my students are enthusiastic and motivated to face challenges head on. In turn, they motivate me to find ways to enrich their education to help them reach their full potential.
