My students range in age from kindergarten to fifth grade. They come from low-socioeconomic backgrounds, and the majority of them are bilingual students that speak predominantly Spanish. Since many of my students are developing their English language skills they are eager to practice what they are learning. They are extremely excited to learn and use technology with me in the computer lab. Their experiences with all types of computer programs have helped bridge the gap in their language and communication skills, as well as increased their confidence and self-esteem in expressing themselves. Unfortunately, our student population is extremely transient, and our absenteeism is high, mainly due to circumstances beyond our control.
