My students are all reading on different levels. Without proper organization, it can be difficult to keep each child engaged and reading on their independent level. I am asking fro five sets of book bins. The book bin storage system will allow students to "shop" in our classroom library for books on their "just right" level. Students will then take responsibility for storing their selected books in the book bins. During reading time (or if students finish work early) they will be able to get their book bin and read independently in a quiet spot in our classroom. This project will organize appropriate books for each child so they can foster a love for reading. Reading the same book multiple times helps to increase reading fluency and comprehension. I look forward to seeing my students make large gains in fluency and comprehension as a result of having their own book bins. My class will be thrilled to have a book bin for every student!
