I have wonderful, energetic, students in my classroom. We are always learning. My students love to learn about something new and they are thrilled when they get to use technology because many of them either don't have computers at home, or if they do, they don't know how to use it to get where they need to. My class this year has many struggling readers. To help them, I teach in whole and small groups and often I will use technology to help them practice essential skills. We are a Leader in Me school which focuses on the 7 habits which includes being proactive, having a plan, and working together to achieve more. We teach our students to be leaders, to set goals, and to track their own progress. We use the Accelerated Reading program where students read books on their reading level, take tests to show comprehension and earn points towards a goal. This program has motivated so many readers in my class this year, but it is difficult with only one computer.
