My students are going to be making quilts for the dogs and cats at the local shelter in Pasco, Washington. We only have 1-2 working sewing machines and very little supplies for this project. Working sewing machines will help my students complete their projects. We could also use thread, scissors, and needles to complete our quilts. My students will be improving their learning by practicing basic sewing techniques. My students will also be learning about the community around them. Students will be able to do a community service. They will be giving a little comfort to the dogs and cats in the shelter.
