I have a classroom with students with special needs. They all have autism. They are a bunch of very bright students but they do have a lot of needs. The disability ranges from moderate to severe. One of their toughest challenges is stay seated at all times. This could be at their desk doing individual work; in small group; or at circle time. Circle time is especially hard on one of my students because of not only having autism, he has recently been diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy (MD). It is very difficult for him to sit on the floor during story time or during other activities.
