I will use the Chromebooks to create a one-to-one environment in my room. The technology will be fully integrated in our learning so that students can move seamlessly from text to computer. My students will learn how to type correctly and efficiently, preparing them for future learning and employment. They will also learn important internet safety and research techniques. Narrowing the technology gap will help my low income students be successful long after they leave my classroom. Some of my students don't have access to a computer at home. They cannot type, or easily use a computer. These are skills they will need in order to succeed in later grades. I am also very interested in using sites like Code to introduce my students in coding, a growing field in the workforce. We can also use sites such as EverFi to teach financial literacy, an important life skill. The versatility of the Chromebook in a one-to-one classroom leaves nothing but possibility for my students. For some, this technology could change their attitude about school, increase their motivation, even change their lives.
